RagTime 7 compatibility with macOS Sonoma

Update: RagTime 7 runs flawlessly under macOS 14 Sonoma. The current version can be downloaded for installation from our download area.

Without any prior notice, Apple removed the complete APIs for the CGPSConverter and several font APIs starting with macOS Sonoma. This means customers should not upgrade to the new macOS Sonoma operating system yet. We will inform our customers as soon as the problem is resolved. We have reported the missing APIs issue to Apple and expect help from them.

The missing CGPSConverter APIs result into non working operations or crashes when exporting RagTime PDFs via the “File > Export to PDF” menu, or when using/placing PDFs or EPS images. This may affect all customers.

The missing font APIs in Sonoma: we are working on a replacement for such APIs, some compatibility is already included in RagTime 7, some other will be released via a RagTime 7 update.

We will  update this TechInfo upon changes.

PS: Like our clients, we are disappointed that Apple removes supported APIs in Sonoma without prior notice.
